My friends, Jenny and Tom Hammar. And Sigge and Max.

If you follow my blog you know that I’m part of a wedding photography network, weddingphotographers.se – a group of six friends. One of them is Jenny Hammar. Jenny is a photographer I truly admire, and have admired since I first started shooting. Her pictorial language is so emotional and the colors in her photos are like green olivs and a sweet white wine… Jenny is also that kind of person who lights up a room with her aura. She is warm, lovable and a true friend. (And fierch in english, so she’ll probably find a typo or two in this blogpost!) She is married to the very handsome Tom and together they recently got twin boys – Max and Sigge. ♥

So far so good. But then one day, Jenny asked me if I could take some family photos of them. The same moment my lips said the words “I’d love to!” the rest of my body just wanted to drop off the face of earth. What did I just promise?!? Shoot one of my big role models? Holy cow…! I actually arrived to the shoot 45 min early and just sat around the corner in my car jittering, but once I finally made it up to their appartment the nervousness was all gone and I hade a lovly time shooting, singing songs, shaking a rattle trying to get two small boys to be happy at the same time. Don’t know if the boys or I was most exhausted by the time we where done… :)

Is it anything more flattering than having your clients coming back and re-hiring you? I shoot both Carl and Katja’s wedding in Sweden and their wedding in Moscow, Russia last year and now I got to document the baptism of their adorable little son Alexander. Everyone of their family and friends are so kind I warmly welcomed me back. ♥ And it was lovely to see how much love surrounds little Alexander, Carl & Katja are amazing parents.

The baptism took place at Fullerö Herrgård, a beautiful estate right outside Västerås.

The moment I met the Goshn family I got a warm loving feeling inside – I instantly knew I would like them, a lot. Especially Sean and little Liam, just look how cute they are! Although, photography might not be their favorite thing to do… It took a lot of persuading, singing, standing on one leg, saying “tada” and lots of soap bubbles to make the little sweethearts happy. Both from me and their very patient parents, but I think we did it… ;)

Cards that make my day

I love, love, love when clients send me “thank you”-cards! It’s just so nice to see how they present their photos and I love to hang them on a wall in my studio, and whenever I’m having a bad day I can just glance at the wall and feel all the love from my former clients! When I got home from Brazil this card was waiting for me, from baby Britta and her parents – and it totally mad my day! ♥

Ever since I started my buisness three years ago I have looked up to Lieselott Van den Meijs – she is not only a great photographer but she is so sweet, so humble and one of few who opened her arms and welcomed a little uneducated me into the photography industry. When with her I feel so relaxed and I can talk about everything, she feels like my sister.

This fall, Lieselott asked me if I could photograph her family – I got super flattered and super nervous. Photographing a photographer? Yikes! But it turns out – her husband and three (!) kids are just like her and spending an afternoon at Rosendals värdshus on Djurgården was amazing. We laughed, played in the leafs, drank warm appel cider and photographed. I just wanted to bring them all home with me, especially little Smilla – such a doll! ♥

This is Britta. She is three weeks old. She eats alot. And isn’t to fond of sleeping or even laying down by herself, at least not when I was there to take her picture. But her mother is blessed with an incredible patience we managed to get a few minutes which was enough when the baby is as adorable as Britta. ♥

I just love it when my clients come back to me for more photos – a bride and groom turning mom and dad, a bellie turns into a baby or like in this case a single child becoming sibling. I photographed Lola when she was six months old, now she is three and has a baby sister named Joline. This is only a few photos that we took, these kids were so adorable I could photograph them for days! ♥

I have always loved babies but it was only about 1,5 year ago I really begun to understand the miracle surrounding a baby. It was when my sister had her baby Esther who is a perfect little replicate of me – we talk a lot, when we sleep we look like a meatball and when I look into her eyes it feels like looking into my own reflection. And this is only my nice, I can’t even imagine having a baby of my own! (I must say I feel sorry for my sister though, because if little E turns into a mini-me she’ll be busy the next few years running around after a fat little girl who will get into a lot of trouble…). :)

When I met Joakim and Jessica they had only been parent for five (!) days and they were absolutely glowing! It felt like they were walking on sunshine, in a total bliss and they spend minutes just sitting and looking at their baby boy B. And I think B could feel how happy his parents where because every time the kissed or cuddled with each other he smiled.

Kids are sooo much fun to photograph! Sure, I do get some exercise trying to run around after them but they are so genuine. They are just being themselves, which I love. Rasmus was no exception, such a little charmer. I actually got a special place in my heart because when he dances he looks just like my boyfriend when he is asking me for something (to make him homemade cookies, rub his back or when he wants to watch Champions League even though Desperate Housewives is on…). Yes, when Rasmus grows up he too will probably eat homemade cookies and get his back rubbed while watching Champions League. No doubt about it. ♥
