…when one can look forward to what’s to come in 2012? ;) happy new years my friends!
When I moved to Stockholm I made a new personal record on “the farthest north I’ve ever been”, I remember how I considered the subway very exotic and got lost several times, every day. Hehe! But I liked it! Never knowing what might be around the next corner, never knowing who I was going to meet next. One day I met Boyfriend – a finnish/indian boy and he stole my heart. Actually, I would say that he stole my heart and sold it to Tripadvisor because he introduced me to travelling and made me hooked! Since meeting him a few years ago I’ve been to Finland, India, Cambodia, Vietnam, Brasil, Thailand, Argentina, USA, Russia, Denmark, Norway, Italy, South Africa, Kenya, Zanzibar, The Netherlands, England and France. Not bad for a little country girl who though Stockholm was big and scary, hehe! One thing I absolutely love about travelling is photographing for me, taking pictures I want to take. Only for me. These photos were taken on a recent trip to Kenya, taken by me, for me.
A year and a half ago I went to Jose Villa’s workshop in Tuscany, one day we got an assignement: go for a day trip to Florens, with only one camera and one lens. I had just gotten a Holga from Jose, my very first film camera and decided to bring that. Only that.
With a few of the girls I climbed the stairs of the Dome, or maybe I should say crawled the stairs – it’s a lot of steps. My head was filled with new information, my heart filled with new inspiration and there, with the view of Florens, I felt like I could do anything I wanted. Anything. The girls and I shared something magical right there, we cried, took some photos with our film cameras and really enjoyed life extra much this very moment. After the workshop I had a day in Rome, all by myself, usually I h.a.t.e. being by myself. Like, I’d rather hang out with the grumpy guy at the subway ticket booth than being alone. But I decided to only bring my Holga and take a long walk around Rome. I looked, I saw, I took long deep breaths, I ate a fresh peach, I took one roll of film with my Holga and I had never, ever been so content with just hanging out with myself. When life starts spinning to fast these two memories are what I try to bring back, and it always helps. I think that’s why I’ve been so scared of developing the rolls of film I took – I didn’t want to ruin the memories. But now I finally did it and I’m so glad I did – the photos made my memories even stronger. Oh, the power of photos. The power of a plastic camera, my Holga

In the last 6 weeks I’ve been to 3 different continents and only spend 3 nights in my own bed. I’ve been travelling like crazy, and loved every moment off it! Traveling, photographing, shooting destination weddings, meeting new people, different cultures, eat amazing food – I am really living my dream! I’m finally back at the office and have like a gazillion emails to go thru + a massive to-do list – I just have to figure out where to start…
A little self portrait of us while in South Africa – we’re a bit blurry but very happy!
Just wanted to say a quick hi and tell you that I’m still alive! :) I’m sorry about the lack of blogging, in the last 2 weeks I’ve been to NYC, Las Vegas (and WPPI), Stockholm and now I’m currently in South Africa. Between re-packing, wppi-flu, shoots and jet-lag I just haven’t had time to update my blog but I promise that I have tons of yummy things to show you, tons.
But first I have a few more countries to visit and a few more shoots to do. :) Until then I’m so honored and humbled to be featured on the British wedding blog Love My Dress today with a vintage winter wedding shoot – check it out on their website and I’ll post some of the photos here when I get back.
(Oh, if you want to get a hold of me – email! I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.)
So right now I’m in the land of the two “s” – suger and shopping. I luv it but the two “w” don’t: my waistline and wallet. :D While I continue to experience the rest of the alfabeth you can check out the latest blogpost on weddingphotographers.se
While I wrote my 2010 review I caught myself thinking – “Who did all these trips? Me?? Really?! I’m one lucky little girl. With a very understanding Boyfriend.” And it’s a good thing he’s supporting, because he’ll have to keep doing it 2011… :D
I have several trips planned already and if you are planning a destination wedding in europe or anywhere else in the world – then I’m your gal! Destination shoots are my favorites! If I could spend my life traveling, photographing destination weddings and eat – then my life would be perfect. Oh, sorry – add kiss the Boyfriend to that list too and then my life would be perfect. (sorry love!) Last year this little wedding photographer went to Paris / France, Rome + the Amalfi Coast / Italy, New York + California / USA, London / England and São Paulo + Rio de Janeiro / Brazil. This year I wouldn’t mind photograph a wedding in Greece, Spain or Dubai…!! Well, while I keep dreaming you can find all my planned trips on my travel dates page and if I’m in your neck of the woods and wanna meet up, send me a note and we’ll try to make it work! :)
Here’re a few photos from a wedding I photographed in Moscow, Russia – a place I get to go back to this year!
So Anna and I got to shoot not one, but two(!) destination weddings in California last year! And we had a blaaast! Best friend + wedding photography + travel = how can it go wrong?
A few days a go I posted the first of our “behind the scene”-video. I know we might not seem saine in it and honestly – we’re not. Here’s part two, and brace yourself – we did not get any more normal during this trip I’m afraid. In this episode we have some guest stars Desiree Rosborg, Natasha Kothari, Stacey Able, Camille + Danny, Jose Villa, Joel Serrato, Lacie Hansen and Jill LaFleur – please give them a around of applause!!
Jag älskar era filmer! Vilken glädje! Ni verkar vara två super tjejer. O inte tala om era bilder, sjukt vackra!!
Bilderna på dig är ju heeeelt underbara som smallpigart tagit på dig!
ALL THE SINGLE LADIES!! Woooo! Wedding time!!!! <3 this! I love how much fun you two have with life! It makes me smile and that's awesome!!!
a.w.e.s.o.m.e!!!!!!!
:)
Så härlig video! Meeeer sånt om du har tid framöver.
It looks like you had such a fantastic time in California :o) That video was adorable! Some of your scenes (especially the one of the coast) reminded me of a roadtrip through California that I took with my boyfriend last summer. We drove from Washington State to Texas. California was probably our favorite part. Especially San Francisco and San Luis Obispo (a very cute beach town). Happy Weekend!
I Love it!! This was one of the most darling films ever…you two are darling too! So nice meeting you on your trip to America! Can’t wait to come and visit you next time! Please come again….xoxoxo
The day I met Anna my life changed forever and ever. Seriously, that girl should come with a warning-label! “Causes severe pain in your abs from hours and hours of laughing and will also make sure that you have a soar throat from chatting non-stop twenty-four-seven” :)
I love everything about her – I love that she drives like a car thief, how she’s a sore looser (even if we’re just playing lame games to pass time), that she’ll do anything to protect me from all the bad things in the world, that she is smart and beautiful. That she often have a colorful flower in her hair, that she calls all her things by names, that she uses weird synonyms (often completely non-understandable). That she always looks on the bright side of life. Always. She has the best humour and can make the grumpyiest old man laugh. I love that she loves champagne and drink it whenever she can and that she loves chocolate as much as I do. She has a big pink heart and I can’t imagine a better friend to hold hands with when walking through life together.
Ok, so enough with the chicken-hearted babbling. Last year the “girl who should come with a warning label” and I got to shoot destination weddings in Califronia – twice. And instead of “behind the scene”-photos, here’s a “behind-the-scene”-VIDEO! But I want to make a few things clear: We do work (hard), even if it doesn’t look like it here… We had both a theme song and a theme word for this trip, you’ll figure them out. And yes, we know we’re a bit nuts but life is a bit more fun like that.
Ok, here we go – Part I!
If you can’t get enough of us (and our jokes, dialects and high-pitch laughing) make sure to check back on Friday shen we’ll realease part II!
