norrlandsdagarna 2012

i'm speaking!

I do love to talk, so much that a lot of the time I just talk to myself since everyone else is sick of listening to my high pitched voice. But I don’t mind, as long as I get to talk I’m happy. And in a few weeks me and my loud voice is jumping on a plane to Luleå….

norrlandsdagarna

…because I’m speaking at the largest photography convention in Northern Sweden – Norrlandsdagarna! It’s crazy – little me, several other really interesting speakers and tons of photographers. I’m speaking on Friday at 13.15 and I already bought candy to bribe the audience with so hopefully someone will laugh at my jokes. :D Ok, I’m off to find a dictionary to help me translate all the “jouuuuuhh” that they say up there…

ps. if you are going, please don’t hesitate to come up to me and say “hi” – i always love to have someone to talk to! ;)

I’m so proud to part of an network with some amazing girls – we are experts in talking non stop for several hours, we can consume massive amount of sweets really, really fast and we can be very loud (apologise to all the people who travelled on the same train with us down to Copenhagen on our last inspiration trip – that was one of our low points). ;)

Last year we invited all the wedding photographers to come and enjoy some mulled wine and go bananas in our photobooth. Well, it was so much fun we were thinking about doing again – who’s with us? On 15th of December – read more about it, and check out our little video HERE

wedding photography seminar

bröllopsfotografering föreläsning

I just wanna shout out a big thank you to everyone who showed up at my seminar yesterday! I was blown away by the turnout, the laughs at my lame jokes and all the warm hugs I got afterwards! Thank you, thank you, thank you. My mailbox is filling up with lovely little love notes from attendees and every one of them makes me SO happy. Please everyone, add me on FB (see link below “become my friend”) and don’t forget to do you homework! ;)

bild

Eh, yeah – this is the only picture I managed to snap. And it’s with my iphone. If anyone happened to get a photo of me yesterday, please send me a copy? thank! :D

    hello Alicia
just discovered your website/blog last week as I’m preparing to start working with Amy at Albumesque. I’m a wedding photographer in Denmark (living on tiny island Aeroe), self-taught as you now entering my fourth year in business (I have had two children while starting my business so I haven’t had time to fully explore my potential yet) I’m also aquainted with Audrey Smit (saw her maternity photos on your website:)
I must say your photographs are breathtaking! From my perspective you’re right up there alongside Jose Villa, Messina and Tanja Lippert all of whom whose blogs I’m addicted to. I’m a digital photographer who is deeply in love with film photographs. My heart and creative self aches when I see film photographs. I just don’t have neither the skill nor the guts to leave the security of my digital camera behind. I will definitely start following your blog from now on. You write that you started as a second shooter, do you ever need a second shooter yourself? I’m SO willing:) either way I will definitely start saving up so I can book you for my own wedding in a couple of years ;) merry christmas

Oj, får man fråga vad man vill? I vilka lägen? Hälsningar från en som kikar på din blogg då och då och tycker att du skapar vackra bilder!

  5. Sanna Längvik 23. Sep, 2011 at 3:50 pm #

new pricing

low season discounts!

this year i had about a gizillion inquires for august 6th. and all the other saturdays in june-september. and it kills me to have to turn people down. i also get a few people every year who asks if i can give them a discount. but it’s impossible since people only get married at saturdays during the summer months. the season is short for a wedding photographer in Scandinavia. :( but….

1
…i started to think why is that? tradition i guess… but didn’t we skip traditional things way back? people meet their partner online, they have kids before they get married, they invited our mothers ex-boyfriends new wife to our weddings – so why can’t people get married on a sunday in june or a friday in august?
for example – you want a low key wedding? maybe brunch or barbeque with you closes friends? well, have a 11 a.m. ceremony on a sunday, eat lunch and party like crazy – by the time it’s 8 p.m. people will be exhausted and go home to get a good night sleep before work on monday morning!
or in august, when 99% of our population are on vacation arrange a friday wedding – it’s just like a saturday wedding only you don’t have to book a venue 2 years in advance and i promise your guests will take a half day of work to come to your wedding! and you might even get a discount, at least you will with me. :D from now on i offer “low season” rates to all my wedding packages! “‘low season” is from october until the third weekend of may and sunday-friday all summer long!! hurray!

check out all my wedding packages HERE!

Green Wedding Shoes

published!

I get so many spams in my email it’s not even funny. And I’m so gullible that I believe most of them, yes – I’m the kind of girl who just for a second things that maybe an old relative of mine passed away and gave me his big oil-rink outside Norway. :D

greenweddingshoes

So when I got an email from Jen at Green Wedding Shoes I was pretty sure it was fake – being published there is a dream of mine, and dreams (I’m starting to learn) doesn’t come in emails. But this time it really did! I’m published at the amazing wedding blog Green Wedding Shoes with the American Love is in the Air shoot! Big, big hug to all the vendors who came together for this shoot (especially the girls at Scheme Events) and a big hug to Jen for my first feature on Green Wedding Shoes.

Happy 4th of July everybody!

(click here to see my full post from this shoot – part I and part II)

a trip to Copenhagen

with weddingphotographers.se

This spring all the girls in our little network weddingphotographers.se packed our bags and went abroad to Copenhagen with one mission: to be inspired!

kopenhamn

We drank champange, went to Louisiana (I fell in love with Picasso and his artistic path!), walked the streets of Copenhagen, tried the rides at Tivoli and practices our Danish. With varying results. ;) I decided early on to only bring my little Holga on the trip, so while the others were running around like crazy shooting (it took us about 10 minutes to walk ten feet, haha) I happily loaded my film and carfully selected my objects. One frame at the time. Oh, I ♥ my little Holga! While I wait for my images to get developed (and pray that at least ONE is in focus) please check out our website and look at the little video from the trip, I must however apologize in advance if we sound like giggle teenages becasue we did. 24/7. :D

photo above of my Holga and I is taken by the awsome photographer and bestest of friends, Anna!

The Photography Palour

When Tamara from The Photography Palour asked if she could do an interview with me I was pretty sure she had some temporary insanity and asked the wrong person.

photographyparlour

Photography Parlour interviews interesting people like Jessica Claire, Jasmine Star, Jesh De Rox, Becker… Who on earth would want to read about me except for my Boyfriend (who’s also probably my best blog follower). When I heard the news that the interview was up I quickly had to grab a glass of wine to calm my nerves – I talk a lot, to much, about everything and nothing, once I get going I have a hard time stopping, non stop, and it’s a good thing they didn’t print this in a real paper because they would have run out of ink. If you want to read my blabbering you can do so HERE and pretty please leave a comment or three so I don’t feel I’m talking to no audience… :D Thank you so much Tamara for a great interview – cheers!

Haha! It definitely is a long interview, but such a great one too! Thank you so much Alicia for letting me interview you. You’ve been a big inspiration of mine for a while, so it was lovely to get to know the girl behind the camera a bit too (in a non-stalking kind of way, of course :)

the italy girls

and two dudes

When Jose Villa announced that he was hosting a workshop in Italy I immediately started to eat bread and water to save every little penny so I could afford to go and those save pennies was the best investment I’ve ever made. Yes, I got to meet Jose and his entire team BUT I also made friends for life.

italygirls

We bounded on the hills of Tuscany over (lots and lots) of wine and ever since we’ve chat almost daily and we met up all over the world whenever we’ve had the chance. We call ourselves the Italy Girls, however we do have to handsome guys in our group too… And a baby (she was in Kristen’s belly during the workshop so she was an Italy girl before she was even born!) And now *drumroll* we have a website! You can read all about us, our adventures and see pictures of everyone on our website: www.theitalygirls.com
